Calls to the model gpt-4o-transcribe on OpenAI stop working on February 26, 2027.

On February 26, 2027, the gpt-4o-transcribe model will be shut down. Calls specifying model gpt-4o-transcribe will fail after this date. OpenAI lists the shutdown date as part of its model retirements.

## What to use instead

Migrate to gpt-live-transcribe or gpt-transcribe as recommended by OpenAI. Moving to gpt-live-transcribe requires more than updating the model identifier, as it only runs in Realtime transcription sessions (/v1/realtime/transcription_sessions) where audio is streamed in and transcript deltas are returned rather than uploading files to /v1/audio/transcriptions.

gpt-live-transcribe only runs in Realtime transcription sessions (/v1/realtime/transcription_sessions): audio is streamed in and transcript deltas come back, with no file upload to /v1/audio/transcriptions.
