# POST /v1/incidents/secrets/{}/grant_access is deprecated

GitGuardian API deprecated POST /v1/incidents/secrets/{id}/grant_access without giving a shutdown date yet.

GitGuardian has deprecated the POST /v1/incidents/secrets/{id}/grant_access endpoint without announcing a shutdown date. This change affects calls granting a user, invitee, or team access to a secret incident. Calls to this endpoint will eventually fail.

## What to use instead

Grant access using PUT /v1/members/{member_id}/{resource_type}/{resource_id}, PUT /v1/teams/{team_id}/{resource_type}/{resource_id}, or PUT /v1/invitations/{invitation_id}/{resource_type}/{resource_id}, passing the incident as the resource.

- API: GitGuardian API (api.gitguardian.com)
- Kind: Endpoint removal
- Takes effect: no date given yet
- Calls after that day: fail
- Calls it hits: `POST /v1/incidents/secrets/{id}/grant_access`
- Source: [Announcement](https://api.gitguardian.com/docs)
