Mastodon API deprecated GET /api/v1/suggestions without giving a shutdown date yet.

The Mastodon API has deprecated GET /api/v1/suggestions without a shutdown date. Calls made to this endpoint will eventually fail. Mastodon API lists the method as deprecated for retrieving follow suggestions.

Call GET /api/v2/suggestions instead.
