# /v1/payments/billing-agreements is deprecated

PayPal REST API deprecated /v1/payments/billing-agreements* without giving a shutdown date yet.

PayPal deprecated the /v1/payments/billing-agreements* endpoints without a shutdown date. PayPal REST API retains documentation only to support existing integrations, while calls will eventually fail as these resources are phased out. The endpoints handle legacy billing agreements and are no longer intended for new integrations.

## What to use instead

Move recurring payments to the Subscriptions API (/v1/billing/subscriptions). This transition requires more than updating an endpoint, as existing billing agreements do not carry over and buyers must approve the new subscriptions again.

Existing billing agreements do not carry over to subscriptions: moving means new subscriptions that buyers approve again.
