# /account is deprecated

Telnyx API deprecated /account* without giving a shutdown date yet.

Telnyx deprecated the legacy /account* endpoints without a shutdown date. These calls belong to the retired HTTP API inventory that predates the current V2 REST API. Any requests made to them are subject to failure.

## What to use instead

Use the V2 resources instead, such as GET /v2/balance and the other account endpoints under api.telnyx.com/v2. Because there is no one-to-one replacement for these retired APIs, moving requires choosing and validating the matching V2 product rather than simply updating an identifier.
