# The Legacy Custom Objects relationships API stops working

Calls to /api/sunshine/relationships/* on Zendesk API stopped working on July 1, 2026.

On July 1, 2026, Zendesk fully removed legacy custom objects. Calls to /api/sunshine/relationships/* fail since that day. This follows a restriction from January 15, 2026, after which users could no longer create new legacy custom objects or relationships.

## What to use instead

Migrate to custom objects with lookup relationship fields (/api/v2/custom_objects/*). Moving to the new custom objects takes more than changing an endpoint, as it requires migrating the account's relationship types and records.
